Join the Band
What does it mean to be PART OF THE BAND?
Band is a year-long class at LMS. We meet during Related Arts time, which is like "Specials" in elementary school. There is one Band class per grade level.
At the beginning of the school year, you'll have the option to join the Band. You will need to commit to a year of Band or go into the other Related Arts classes (PE, Art, and STEM). You will need a parent's permission to join. In addition, there will be parent meetings during the first month of school.

We play the following instruments in Band: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, and Percussion. You can see each of those instruments in this video. Be sure to watch the whole video - you might learn about an instrument you've never seen before!
When you join Band, we'll work together to choose the perfect instrument for you.
You do NOT need to have any experience playing an instrument before joining Band! Most students have never played an instrument before they join. If you already know how to read music, you'll be a step ahead of the class!
